Are you afraid of going to the dentist? Well things have changed.
Sedation dentistry may be the best way to keep you comfortable and relaxed
Commonly the first part of relieving anxiety is discussing your treatment options and develo
ping a plan to meet your needs and desires.
If necessary, we offer several levels of sedation dentistry from nitrous oxide (laughing gas), to oral sedation (pills or liquids you take by mouth), to Intravenous (IV) sedation.
IV sedation is also called Conscious Sedation and is like Twilight Sedation.
Proper Training in Sedation is Important!
The periodontist completes hospital based training in sedation dentistry to keep you comfortable during your treatment. Periodontists receive extensive training in these areas, including two to three additional years of education beyond dental school. Every year our doctors taking special training to keep them updated on new innovations in sedation. Drs. Craddock and Godat are also licensed by the Board of Dentistry to administer sedation.
Some of our assistants have had additional training in assistant’s anesthesia (sedation) from The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA).
Remember we want your treatment to progress as easily and as smoothly as possible.
