Introduction to Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery

Cosmetic Periodontal Surgery is a group of highly specialized and extremely delicate procedures performed by Drs. Godat and Craddock. These procedures involve: soft tissue grafting as a predictable way to cover unsightly, sensitive, or exposed root surfaces and to prevent future gum recession (loss of gum and bone tissue).

If you are unhappy with the appearance of short unsightly teeth, Esthetic Crown Lengthening, can be used by Drs. Craddock and Godat to significantly improve the appearance of your smile. Esthetic crown lengthening may be used before, during, or after orthodontic treatment.

Many of the procedures used today were developed in our office. A laser can be used for some of  these procedures.

Other cosmetic periodontal procedures to specifically help the orthodontic patient include frenectomies, orthodontic tooth uncovery, as well as Wilckodontics. Another delicate procedure included under cosmetic periodontal surgery is biopsy of oral lesions.
